Testare automată și laboratoare virtuale de testare

In cadrul acestei sesiuni vom discuta despre necesitatea utilizarii uneltelor de testare in echipe si chiar procese de dezvoltare de aplicatii. Odata introduse uneltele din suita Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate sau Visual Studio 2010 Test Professional, vom vedea cum putem pune in valoare infrastructurile virtualizate pentru a construi laboratoare virtuale de testare.

Solutia de virtualizare si management care va permite o gestiune centralizata a acestor laboratoare este System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2008 R2, iar unelte de rulare si programare automata de teste vor fi Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate si Microsoft Test & Lab Manager 2010.

In final, vom dori sa identificam beneficiile implementarii unei astfel de solutii in functie de cele mai uzuale scenarii de utilizare.

Imported from Japan, Kanban is an agile methodology that is gaining a lot of traction. Kanban, or Japanese for signal card, is a process that focuses on transparency and limiting the work in progress.

By utilizing Kanban, you can pinpoint the bottlenecks and address them easily. In this session you will learn what Kanban is, how it evolved from its roots in the Toyota production system to software development, Kanban’s benefits, and how best to implement a Kanban system.

We’ll also discuss when not to use Kanban and how to modify other agile methodologies, such as Scrum, to be used in conjunction with Kanban.

Am intrat in cel de-al doilea an de functionare oficiala (si platita) pentru Windows Azure iar Cloud computingul se impune din ce in ce mai clar ca fiind urmatorul mare pas in IT. Desi procesul de asmilare al tehnologiei este relativ lent, Cloud-ul transforma deja viata tutor celor implicati in IT: arhitecti, dezvoltatori, operatori, IT manageri.

Provocarile arhitecturale sunt printre cele mai importante probleme pe care acest salt tehnologic le genereaza. Integrarea cloud-ului cu zona on-premises, decuplarea, managementul starii, scalabilitatea, relational vs. non-relational, instrumentarea, monitorizarea sunt doar cateva fatete ale acestor provocari.

Vom discuta in aceasta sesiune despre ce inseamna cloud compting pentru arhitecti si vom detalia cele mai importante provocari cu care acestia se confrunta. Vom incerca in acelasi timp sa oferim si un ghid generic pentru cei care doresc sa faca primul pas catre Cloud fie prin dezvoltarea unor aplicatii noi fie prin adaptarea unora dintre componentele unei aplicatii existente.

For a while now, the smartphone market has seen 3 different platforms that divide the users: iOS, Android and Windows Phone.

Each platform has its pluses and minuses, and as developers, we have the task to build mobile apps quickly and efficiently. In order to make this possible, we need an overview of those platforms, to know what we can reuse, which tools we need and what are the corelations between the 3 platforms.

Desi a fost lansat doar acum cativa ani, Silverlight a evoluat catre o plaforma tot mai completa pentru dezvoltarea de aplicatii web si desktop atat pentru aplicatii consumer cat si pentru aplicatii business. Silverlight 5 construieste in continuare cu feature-uri ca 3D, rendering mult imbunatatit de text, suport pentru rularea nativa pe 64 de biti, accelerare grafica a interfetei, cat si tool-uri de development mult imbunatatite cu suport pentru debugging si profiling.

Convincing a customer to migrate an existing application to Windows Azure can be hard. In this session you will learn how to approach the matter, how to convince the customer, and what are the key reasons to perform such a migration.

This session is based on the speaker’s experience with several Azure projects, but mainly one migrated from on premises to Azure: an online service with tens of thousands of users, with high storage demands, and very high security concerns.
